Backup Command

This dialog is available from the File / Backup... menu command.

This command backs up all currently opened Fund Manager data, including:

Portfolio (*.MM4)

Investments (*.DAT)

Global preferences from the registry*

Client list (Advisor version only)

The backup is saved to a single *.fmb file, containing all of the above.  You are prompted for a filename (*.fmb) to assign to this backup.  The File / Restore... menu command can be used at a later time to restore any/all of this data.

* Registry backup and restore functionality requires the user to have administrative permissions.  The registry backup/restore functionality is not available under Windows 98 or ME.  To enable administrative permissions under Vista, either run with User Account Control (UAC) turned off, or start Fund Manager as an administrator.  When running backup/restores without these permissions the registry backup will be skipped, but the other data files will continue to be backed up.
