: : I recently migrated from FM3.4 to FM4. When I start the
: : program and I am looking at the gray screen, I have the
: : option to open an investment or a portfolio. With 3.4
: : when I clicked either of those options it took me to
: : the "my data" folder and I made my selection. Now when
: : I select open investment or open portfolio, it takes me
: : to Look in .... Desktop. At that point I have to drill
: : down to the proper drive, proper program, folder etc,
: : until I get to "my data" where I can select what I
: : need. What am I doing wrong??????

: Does this always happen? I've had a couple other reports of this same problem, but haven't been able to reproduce it myself so far.

: Of course, the last
: folder you opened something from is suppose to be set as the default for the next time you want to
: open something. If you notice anything that could
: be of help in tracking this down it would be appreciated.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Could you try this?

After opening an investment, could you check the
value of the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\directory location

The "lastaccess" key should be set to the directory you just accessed. Is it?

Thanks,
Mark
