: However, before receiving your guidance I linked two accounts to the same investment with the same name. Reviewing the accounts now it appears that purchases belonging to account2 erased prior purchases belonging to account1. Is that possible? I suppose I can re-enter account1 data, but I'm curious as to what happened to the original data. Also I’d like to make certain that the account1 data isn’t hidden in account2 (although it doesn’t show under purchases for that account).

Hi Dan,

If you had the same investment file opened twice at the same time, this
could happen. Only the changes to the last opened investment would
be remembered. If you just had the investment in 2 different portfolios,
this should not cause data to be erased. You can double check to see what
transactions/prices you have recorded by using the "Edit / All Data..."
dialog. For all your transactions, select the "Investments (all)" data type.
