: : Hi Mark,

: : As the Canadian quote servers have been somewhat less than desirable lately, I have come across a web site that seems to be more reliable where info is available for free. Perhaps this could be an alternative to the current Canadian quote servers that FM currently uses. Here are a few examples;

: : Acuity All Cap 30 Canadian Equity Mutual Fund
: : http://cgi.money.canoe.ca/funds/details.html?codefonds=CEM443

: : RBC Precious Metals Mutual Fund
: : http://cgi.money.canoe.ca/funds/details.html?codefonds=RBF468

: : Goldcorp (Symbol G) Stock
: : http://cgi.money.canoe.ca/quotes/details.html?select2=cotes&symbol=g&marche=can&OK.x=63&OK.y=5

: : What do you think?

: : Sheldon

: Hi Sheldon,

: Thanks for the tip. We are looking to add a second server for Canadian
: funds, to replace the Quicken Canada server that no longer works. This
: one looks good. The other one we were considering is:

: Both of these servers work differently for stocks/funds, which is
: unfortunate. This means we will most likely only add support for Canadian
: mutual funds for either of these servers.

: I've looked at both servers, and they both seem to have a good selection
: of Canadian funds. If you have a preference for either one of these over
: the other please let me know. We will probably only be adding support for one.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanx for your ultra-quick reply.
I agree with you regarding support for Canadian Mutual funds only, as we can still get quotes for Canadian stocks from the Yahoo server if we add the proper exchange suffix to the Symbol. I think I should have mentioned in my prior message that the reason I posted was that I couldn't get quotes for both Mutual Funds and Stocks from Canada Stockwatch for the past two days. However, when I went to the Canada Stockwatch Home Page and drilled down I was able to get to one of my Mutual funds, which makes me think that maybe it's quote server navigation string may be out of date . Here is the web page that had my info. The fund I was trying to get was the Acuity-All-Cap 30 Canadian Equity Fund.
The Symbol is AMF*ACC.
http://www.stockwatch.com/swnet/mutual/mutual_lookup_detail.aspx?symbol=AMF*ACC&exchange=F&fundname=Acuity+All+Cap+30+Canadian+Equity+Fund

I also checked out the site that I had mentioned in my prior post, along with http://www.adviceforinvestors.com which you had mentioned. I was somewhat underwhellmed with both of them because they still showed yesterday's prices, while Canada Stockwatch and another web site called Globefund.com had current prices. In addition, Canada Stockwatch also had historical prices.

I currently use Canada Stockwatch for all my Canadian holdings (Mutual Funds and Stocks) and have been very pleased with it up until yesterday. Could you possibly check out the current navigation string to see if it may need to be updated?

Thanx,
Sheldon
