: : : Mark,

: : : I am testing FM7 Beta, and I was wondering if there is any way to merge two different *.dat files. A number of years ago the name of my default cash account changed names, and instead of just changing its name I created a new fund and made it my default cash account, selling the cash from the original account. What I would like to do is to merge these two files into one without having to do it manually. Each account has hundreds of transactions.

: : : Thanks,
: : : Gary T.

: : Hi Gary,

: : There is no command to merge investment files automatically. You could
: : however export all your transactions from the 1 cash account, and then
: : import them into the other one. This would effectively merge the 2 cash
: : accounts. I'd recommend exporting to .QIF, and then using that to import
: : into the 2nd cash account.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Mark,

: Thanks that process merges the two files with only one draw back. Memos associated with the imported transactions are not retained. I do not see any way to do that. If there is let me know.

: Again - great product!

Hi Gary,

Thanks for pointing that out. The QIF export wasn't exporting memos.
I've fixed that, so they will now be exported. This fix will be in the
next release.

Thanks,
Mark
