: : Mark,

: : I am testing FM7 Beta, and I was wondering if there is any way to merge two different *.dat files. A number of years ago the name of my default cash account changed names, and instead of just changing its name I created a new fund and made it my default cash account, selling the cash from the original account. What I would like to do is to merge these two files into one without having to do it manually. Each account has hundreds of transactions.

: : Thanks,

: Hi Gary,

: There is no command to merge investment files automatically. You could
: however export all your transactions from the 1 cash account, and then
: import them into the other one. This would effectively merge the 2 cash
: accounts. I'd recommend exporting to .QIF, and then using that to import
: into the 2nd cash account.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Mark,

Thanks that process merges the two files with only one draw back. Memos associated with the imported transactions are not retained. I do not see any way to do that. If there is let me know.

Again - great product!
