Hi - I also am finding under beta 4 that my cash account is not updating when making a trade.
This may be because I normally use a master portfolio with seperate sub portfolios for shares from Australia & New Zealand currencies. Because it spans two currencies the master portfolio can not logically be assigned a default cash account in its own right.

Should not the currency of any new trade entered while viewing the master portfollio automatcally invoke the cash account corresponding to the subportolio set in that currency?
The appropriate sub portfolio should also automatically be allocated the new holding details according to currency.

If not, this is a prettty important feature to add - All multiple currency portfolios will be similarly set up, and currently it seems user is forced to switch to sub portfolio views individually evert time they make a trade, then back again to see the overall picture.

I hope fairly easy to impliment?

Cheers

: : : : Hi,
: : : : I've been using Fund Manager for years and recently noticed somthing odd. I'm running version 6.8.344 and I have cash accounts set up for all of my portfolios. In previous releases of FM whenever I would enter a transaction for a security the linked cash account would be debited or credited automatically to reflect the transaction. This would occur and I would see the cash balance change if I was in a report or, if in a graph, I could right-click on the cash account and select 'edit all data...' from the drop-down, then 'investments(all)' and immediately see the transaction. In release 6.8 I no longer see this automatically. Although I do see the transaction in the security it occurred in (in the report or graph), I have to exit FM and then start it again in order to see the cash account debit/credit. Am I missing something?

: : : Hi Jim,

: : : Something doesn't sound right, 6.8 should work the same as prior versions.
: : : Can you try this:

: : : 1) Verify under "Options / Preferences... / Other" that your default
: : : cash account is assigned properly.

: : : 2) Record a test purchase in some other investment in your portfolio.

: : : 3) Use "Edit / All Data..." with the "Investments (all)" data type to
: : : go look and see if your cash account was debited for the balance of the
: : : purchase?

: : : Thanks,

: : Hello, Mark. I did what you asked and the problem still presented itself. However, I did a Fund Manager update to TRANRETR.DLL version 110 and now the problem is gone. I don't know if the two are related but the upgrade to 110 seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your prompt reply, and for continuing to develop a great product.

: : Jim

: Hi Jim,

: Boy, I wouldn't have expected that DLL to affect this... Anyway, if you
: run into any more troubles let me know.

: Thanks,
: Mark
