: Hi - I also am finding under beta 4 that my cash account is not updating when making a trade.
: This may be because I normally use a master portfolio with seperate sub portfolios for shares from Australia & New Zealand currencies. Because it spans two currencies the master portfolio can not logically be assigned a default cash account in its own right.

: Should not the currency of any new trade entered while viewing the master portfollio automatcally invoke the cash account corresponding to the subportolio set in that currency?
: The appropriate sub portfolio should also automatically be allocated the new holding details according to currency.
:
: If not, this is a prettty important feature to add - All multiple currency portfolios will be similarly set up, and currently it seems user is forced to switch to sub portfolio views individually evert time they make a trade, then back again to see the overall picture.
:
: I hope fairly easy to impliment?

: Cheers

Hi Paul,

Each portfolio, whether it is a sub-portfolio, or a top level portfolio
can be assigned its own default cash account. Whenever you record
a transaction in an investment, Fund Manager looks to see if there is
a default cash account assigned for the sub-portfolio that this investment
belongs in. If there is, then the corresponding entry is automatically
made in that cash account. This seems to give the maximum flexibility.

Do you have a default cash account assigned to your sub-portfolios?
If you do, and you are able to record a transaction and not see it show
up in the assigned default cash account, please let me know. You can
use the new Portfolio Editor to check the properties of each sub-portfolio,
that is where the default cash account is assigned.

Thanks,
Mark
