: I just downloaded my transaction history from Microsoft Money 2006. The transactions seem to be correct, but there is 5 years worth so it would be hard to check them all. The problem is that the total value is less than the one shown on Microsoft. I think it may be leaving out the short sales for some reason. The difference is very close to the sum of the short sale value plus the future dividends recorded on Microsoft but not on my Beiley portfolio.
How did you download from Money? Did you export to a .QIF file using the "Strict" option? Exporting and importing short sales and covering of short sales should export and import okay. I've tested it with MS Money 2005, but not 2006. The QIF file format should not change though. Maybe you can isolate which investment is off on the value, and take a closer look at which transactions aren't matching Money. If you create a Portfolio Value report you can sort by Value, and then hopefully quickly scan through the investments to see which one is off. If you find something that isn't importing properly you can send me your .QIF file and I can take a look. Thanks,
