An investment does not keep track of it's own graph display properties, like the scale, this is memorized in portfolio files for all the investments in the portfolio. So, no, it shouldn't matter.

One idea: Do you have "Options / Save Portfolio On Exit" turned on? If so, maybe you did a zoom or something, and that got automatically saved for you?

If you just reset the autoscale, save your portfolio, and then re-open that portfolio right away, are the scales still displayed properly?
