: I have recently purchased a UK Mutual Fund where I have paid a commission in lieu of a an increase in up-front unit cost. Fund Manager does not seem to support this directly so I used the account fee option instead to record the commission paid.

Hi Martin,

You should probably record this fee with the purchase, rather than
as an account fee, since it was associated with the purchase. Use
"Investment Properties.../Other/Transaction Entry Preference/Commission Fees"
to allow you to enter a commission fee with your purchase.

: When I analyse my cash account, the account fee seemed to be recorded as a deposit. Otherwise the price information for the cash account was fine.

Account fees are suppose to be recorded as a negative amount, since they
are being treated as a negative distribution.

: To overcome this, I adjusted the account fee for the Mutual Fund to make it negative to see if this would correct the anomaly. Unfortunately, this messed up the price history for the cash account.

Not sure how this could happen... If you want to try and track this down,
you can send us the steps to reproduce this, and we can take a look.

: Have I done something wrong, or is this a 'undocumented feature' :-)

: Regards
: Martin

: PS FM is an excellent application which I would recommend wholeheartedly to others....

Thank you, appreciate that...

Thanks,
Mark
