: : Hi Mark,

: : I would like to stress the importance of a feature in FM, for those of us wishing to follow indices. For instance, I want to follow FTSE 250, but to do so I have to create manually 250 new security files and then to update them. Since all these securities have the same currency, are all shares of the same type, listed in the same Stock Exchange and the only difference is their epic symbol (and name of course), could you please consider a utility to ease this task for FM users wishing to do so?
: : I hope that I am not the only one demanding such a feature.
: : Many thanks and best regards

: Hi Harry,
: The ability to track indices is already available. You can obtain the
: price of an index just like an investment. You don't need to track all
: the investments in an index. For example, to track the Dow Jones, just
: create an index investment, and assign it a name/symbol, and give it 0 shares.
: The Dow on Yahoo can be retrieved using the symbol of ^DJI. I suspect there
: is something similar for FTSE 250.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Sorry Mark,
My mistake!!!

What i actually meant was to track the constituent shares of a specific index, like FTSE250, not only the index itself.
Apologies!
Many thanks
Harry
