Using FM Capital Gains Calc for HighVolume Stock Trader posted by Mark on March 18, 2000 at 09:36:40: Mark, When you say 'specific' support, what do you mean? My cursory overview of FM seemed to indicate that FM would recognize wash sale (i.e., recognize it is a repurchase 30 days or less after a previous sale), and would generate the wash sale adjustments for you in the capital gains reports. Is this incorrect? I understand the split function. Nice Feature. Also have some spinoffs and would need to recognize those by manually entering them which is OK. I assume "for stock" acquisitions would require manual delete of the old stock, and reentry of new stock with orig. stock purchase date, and original basis spread across the amount of stock received. Is that correct? Thanks, : : I have been looking for a program that will successfuly handle a high volume trading year with wash sales calcs needed, and FM looks like that component is what I need. : : I would create a quicken file formatted input of all buy and sells and use FM to adjust for splits, etc. : : Q. Is this right, that FM can handle the above? Is there a simpler version that only provides this function? OK if not. : : Thanks, : Hi Buck, : Thanks,
