can't correct price

I can't correct an erroneous price in some historical data. I go to enter all data put in a price at 29.5 and it shows up on the chart at 14.75. I have cleaned out all the pricing. I have downloaded new prices from the net but it doesn't take. Something somewhere is telling the program it is half the price. I am trying to enter my initial buy 4/12/93 for WMT at 29.5 for 50 shares. I don't want to start over againg and enter many years of data.
Any ideas?
