: : Hi Mark,
: : In the portfolio view I have added columns for Change and % Change however they always show a value of zero.
: : I have used historical price retrieve and made sure that I in fact have the daily prices for each investment going back at least 6 months or more.
: : If I run a report using any of the functions for 'Change', or Share Price, etc. the values in the report are correct.
: : My system clock is set correctly and has not needed to be changed or corrected. (GMT -5, Eastern US, Daylight Savings checked).
: : My System is Win XP Pro and is auto-updated frequently from Microsoft. My FM ver. is 8.3, Quote Module 374, Transaction Module 117. I don't really know if my Windows auto update has applied a patch for 2007 Daylight Savings time yet, but I don't suppose that should be a factor yet.
: : In the preferences I have tried different settings for Date Format and Prefer to use Open/High/Low without effect.
: : Can you make any suggestions for some setting I may have missed?

: : Regards,
: : Mark M.

: Hi Mark,

: The "Change" and "% Change" columns in the Portfolio Editor show the change from the current computer's date to the day right before. If you are looking at this on a Sunday or Monday, the change will be 0, since Saturday/Sunday are a weekend. Could this be the cause? If not, please use the Data Register and verify that you have pricing data on the current date, and the date right before the current date.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Hi Mark,
This may be interesting to you.
I have been trying to make the Change values show up for about a month. Typically I only update my portfolio prices every 3-4 days, and I have been using MSN or Yahoo historical servers and set the date range so that I have every day the markets are open. (I verified I have prices for every day in Data Register).
Using that method the Change and % Change have always been 0. Tonight (Wed) I updated this weeks prices (Mon-Wed) from MSN historical and the Change was still 0. Then I switched to Yahoo price server and retrieved again and now the Change and % Change value show up.
So even though the prices for every day were in the Data Register the Change value didn't show up until I switched to a non-historical price server.
Regards,
Mark M.
