Investments closed unexpectedly

For the third time since Jan '07 (see earlier post from 1/7), nearly all investments in one of my portfolios have closed for no apparent reason. Also, the active date range was set to Dec 11, 2003 to Dec 11, 2003. I did not do this prior to closing the last time I had this portfolio open. Could this be caused by not closing the portfolio when opening another one (ie, just selecting the portfolio to be opened from the list of recently opened portfolios)?
