FM and Linux?

Hi
Has anybody able to run FM from a Linux OS?
I been trying Ubuntu for a week and was able to install FM and run it.
Seems to work OK, but cannot transfer database from Win.
Looks like one could do a clean install manual build of each portfolio and work from there.
Just curious, as every time MS releases a new OS the pain motivates me to look for alternatives.
