Can one investment be in two separate portfolios?

Can one investment be in two separate portfolios? By separate portfolios, I mean two portfolio's that are totally unrelated, where one portfolio is not a sub-portfolio of the other.

I'm looking for different ways to group funds, and see those groupings subtotaled in the reports. With the same set of funds, I would like to create one portfolio with sub-portfolio's grouped by by account type (roth, 401k, etc), and another portfolio with sub-portfolio's grouped by category.

I know fund manager has investment category and investment goal groupings, but those can't be subtotaled in the reporting section.
