What follows is another illustration of what happens: : 450 shares of stock purchased at $14.35964, with a commission of $10.99. Principle amount $6,461.84. Net amount $6,472.83. : Fund Manager insists on correcting this transaction with total shares purchased 442.04, rather than 450 shares, no matter what. : Must be doing something wrong. Hi Steve, Where are you viewing the 442.04 shares? When you enter this Buy transaction, there are 4 fields: Value, Shares, Price, and Commission On the dialog, it shows: Value = Shares * Price so, for your example, each edit box should be filled in with: Value: 6,461.84 After you click OK, you should be able to edit that transaction, and see the same numbers. Maybe you are looking at 442.04 in some report, and you also have some other transactions recorded? Do you have any splits or other transactions recorded? Look in the Data Register under the 'Investments (all)' and 'Splits' data types. Thanks,
