Hi - any further thoughts on this issue?
I am really struggling with multiple real world accounts being used/needed for same portfolio

Would also like to see other easy features that would allow me to reconcile fund manager reports with bank statements - eg set up transaction types for account fees and taxes deducted by 3rd paries from total - so bank balance actually tallies neatly with dividends and transactions recorded against each account

Need a "many to many" database structure rather than just a "many to one" relating shares to accounts.

From my (limited) experiance, this should not be too hard in theory, and the optional additional linkages need not mess up existing databases

Your thoughts?

: Hi Mark

: Even an investment that just needs to send dividends to a different account than the trading account is affected by this issue - different currencies aside

: I suspect a very common scenario - and a solution would make a lot of investors and their accountants very happy!

: Good luck!

: : Hi Paul,

: : Thanks, I think I finally get it! :) I can see how if you have a single investment that has transactions in multiple currencies, there is no great solution. I wasn't aware this was very common. I'll have to give it some thought on how best to handle this, it isn't immediately obvious to me.

: : The suggestion on using multiple investments was only if you had the same security in different accounts, where each account was traded in a different (but consistent) currency.

: : Thanks,
