how record dividends?

I'm evaluating Fund Manager.

I created a new portfolio and attached a cash account. I entered an initial balance for the cash and recorded initial Buy transactions for five stocks. Cash was adjusted accordingly. Fine. Then I recorded two dividend transactions for the cash account (it's a money market account so it pays dividends too). The dividends were recorded correctly in cash but the balance (as displayed next to the portfolio editor) is incorrect. I also recorded two dividend transactions for two stocks, but these transactions never showed up in the cash account. Am I doing something wrong?

Question. Will Fund Manager automatically account for stock splits, spinoffs, name changes and other "corporate events"?
