Hi Don,

When retrieving transactions, the broker or mutual fund company control how your distributions are handled. If distributions are reinvested they can report this either as a reinvested distribution transaction, or as 2 transactions: a distributed distribution, and a purchase. Both of these should be equivalent though, providing a correct ending share balance.

If you're having to manually edit something to get the shares to balance, this seems wrong... You might want to watch carefully next time, and see if there is something missing, or not being reported properly. If you do see this, save all of your log files, and let us know. You may need to contact the broker/fund company and ask them to correct something. For information on the log files created during the transaction retrieve, see the bottom of this page:
