: : I am trying to determine the capital gains on several mutual funds sold in early January 2000 to estimate income taxes payable 4/15/2001.
: : the cap gains reports list three types;
: : Short Term
: : Medium Term, and
: : Long Term.

: : I understand the Short Term and Long Term but not the Medium Term. This indicates that shares purchased less than 16 months prior to the sale are considered Medium. Why?

: : Thanks in advance,

: Russ,
: Fund Manager has the ability to separate your capital gains into
: 3 different holding periods, as you've described. The length of
: time for these periods can be adjusted under "Options/Report Preferences/
: Capital Gains". To not use the medium term category, specify this time period
: to be greater than or equal to the long term period. You can press the
: "Help" button from this screen to get a description of each term.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the quick answer. Only problem is I don't have "Options/Report Preferences/Capital Gains"
I am running Ver. 4.5,217 and I have "Options/Preferences/Display or Data or yields or Toolbar or Menus or Other" none of these makes any reference to "Reports".
Any other good ideas?

Russ
