: : Hi guys,
: : I know this is probably a supersimple question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

: : Say I have 1000 shares of a stock (that's in the system). Now I've sold 300 shares. I use the "buy/sell transaction window" for that, but where do I enter the commission for the sale???
: : In the little window there's no field for that....

: : Please help,
: : Thank you

: Hi Bert,

: Each investment can be assigned to use a different "transaction entry preference". This option controls whether or not the commission field is shown on the "buy/sell transaction" dialog or not. By default, stocks have this turned on, but if the investment was created as a cash or no-load mutual fund, it would have this turned off. You can check by looking at the "Investment Properties... / Other" dialog. You can change it there to use the "Commission Fees" method, and then go back and edit your sell transaction, and you'll see the commission field available.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Hello,

I'm evaluating FM v8.6. I can't find the "Investment Properties... / Other" dialog. Can you give me a little more information about where it is? I'm trying to add a forgotten commission to an initial stock purchase.

Thanks.
