: Hi guys,
: I know this is probably a supersimple question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

: Say I have 1000 shares of a stock (that's in the system). Now I've sold 300 shares. I use the "buy/sell transaction window" for that, but where do I enter the commission for the sale???
: In the little window there's no field for that....

: Please help,
: Thank you

: Bert

Hi Bert,

Each investment can be assigned to use a different "transaction entry preference". This option controls whether or not the commission field is shown on the "buy/sell transaction" dialog or not. By default, stocks have this turned on, but if the investment was created as a cash or no-load mutual fund, it would have this turned off. You can check by looking at the "Investment Properties... / Other" dialog. You can change it there to use the "Commission Fees" method, and then go back and edit your sell transaction, and you'll see the commission field available.

Thanks,
Mark
