: Just upgraded to 7.0 thinking it solved my dilemna. Have studied documentation and message boards and can't find the solution though.

: I own the same mutual fund in different portfolios (IRA, regular, etc.). I have always kept each portfolio in its own directory -- I open the portfolio and update the prices of all the investments in each portfolio. And then go onto the next portfolio.

: It would be nice to just update prices once for all investments. In my view the price history is independent of the transaction history. So each portfolio would still know about only its own transactions but like investments in different portfolios would access the same price file.

: Does master portfolio do this?

: Thanks.

Hi Oakey,

Yes, you can do this. For each fund you would create an investment file.
Each investment file can have the same symbol/name, but you would assign
them unique filenames. The default filename for an investment is the symbol,
but you can easily change that to anything you want, like:

JANSX_porta.dat
JANSX_portb.dat
JANSX_portc.dat

for example. These investments can be anywhere. You can store them all
in the same directory, or in different ones if you want. Just add them
each to their respective sub-portfolios in Fund Manager. When you do a
price retrieve all of them will get updated. For some detailed instructions
on working with and setting up sub-portfolios please see:
