File location bug

Hi

I am having trouble setting an alternate path to store investment files.

Funds manager is deliberatly not installed to c:/program files/fundsmanager, yet every time I exit, the software tries & fails to save investments to this (empty)location
It also records a new investment I have just set up as being read only when I try to save for the first time - when in fact it does not yet exist as a file (I have checked)

In preferences, I can set the backup location, but not the investment & portfolio file locations. I can however load & update existing investments from my alternative instaled location. Attempts to back up fail, as the new investment seems to first want to save to the non existand loation on C:/ drive

I can also see the properties of the various original subportfolios are showing correct file locations on d:/ drive.

I suspect a registry problem may be the cause (I just had to reinstall windows) - but I would really like to see direct user control/override of file storage locations, whether or not stored in registry as well

Are you able to cast any light on this? How can I proceed without exiting & reinstalling funds manager?

Cheers

Paul King
