Hi Paul,

It sounds like the error message you're getting is from the automatic backup? What does the message say? Are you sure you've specified the backup path to a valid (non read-only) folder? What if you turn off the automatic backup, do you still get the error?

You specify the location of your investment and portfolio files when you create them. You can also move them, and wherever you open them from is where they will get saved back to. You can look at the "Location" field in the Portfolio Editor to see where all your investments/portfolios were opened from.
