: : no problem, just looking for explanation/advise re: downloading quotes.

: : currently using yahoo-historical, split adjustment set to off, and entering dates.

: : 1. is there a source of quotes that will somehow also indicate when splits have occurred so that i don't have to research and enter them one at a time.

: Not really, other than the Yahoo Adjusted server.

: : 2. what is difference between yahoo and yahoo-historical/yahoo-adjusted historical

: The "Yahoo (Historical)" prices are the actual prices that the investment
: closed at on that day. The "Yahoo (Adjusted Historical)" prices have been
: adjusted for splits and distributions. If you are also manually recording
: splits and distributions, you would not want to retrieve with the adjusted
: prices, as you will be double counting for the splits and distributions.

: Thanks,
: Mark
