This dialog is available from the Options / General Preferences... menu command.
This dialog page allows you to customize yield related settings. These preferences are memorized from session to session. They include:
Yield Terms |
Specify the length of the yield terms for displaying yields above the graphs, as well as in the yield reports. Acceptable values vary from 1 month up to 1000 years. |
Annualize Yields for Terms Less Than One Year |
When this option is on, terms less than 1 year will report "annualized" yields. Yields for terms less than a year will be adjusted to the yield that would be earned if the same performance continued for a full year. For example, if an investment yields 5% in a 3 month period, the annualized yield would be almost 22%. For AIMR/GIPS complaint yield reporting, this option should be left off. You may wish to annualize all displayed yields in order to compare relative performance of different time periods. |
Average Annualize Yields for Terms Greater Than One Year |
When this option is on, terms longer than 1 year will report as "average annualized" yields. Yields for terms longer than a year will be adjusted to the yield that would be earned if the same performance happened in each year during the yield term. For example, if an investment yields 33% in a 3 year period, the average annualized yield would be 10%. For AIMR/GIPS complaint yield reporting, this option should be left on. |
Include Accrued Interest in Yield Calculations |
When this option is on, any accrued interest will be included in the yield calculations. Values used in the yield equations for the beginning and ends of the yield term will include any accrued interest. Compared to yields calculated with this option off, yields calculated with this option on, will increase as the ending value's accrued interest increases, and they will decrease as the starting value's accrued interest increases. For AIMR/GIPS complaint yield reporting, this option should be left on. |
Include Account Fees in Yield Calculations |
When this option is on, any account fees will be included in the yield calculations. Account fees are normally recorded as negative valued distributions, so leaving this option on will result in lower yields, inclusive of the effects of the fees. |
Log Calculation Details for ROI Yields |
Fund Manager will log the ROI yield equation and result to an external log file. Whenever a ROI yield calculation is performed the yield equation being solved will be logged to a file called "ROI_log.txt". This log file will be placed in the current user's AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager folder (usually a hidden folder). This log file is deleted upon exiting Fund Manager. |
Log Calculation Details for TWR Yields |
Fund Manager will log the TWR yield equation and result to an external log file. Whenever a TWR yield calculation is performed the yield equation being solved will be logged to a file called "TWR_log.txt". This log file will be placed in the current user's AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager folder (usually a hidden folder). This log file is deleted upon exiting Fund Manager. |
